Hi,
I'm trying to remove a tier from an AO configuration so that I can remove the CPG, but I need to know how to remove the data that was moved to that tier/CPG by AO. The quote below is from the S1 training guide, but I don't see how "You can do so by setting the space for that tier to 0 GiB." When I try to set the Growth Limit by enabling it and putting 0 (zero) I get a message "Growth limit must be greater than or equal to 128.000 GiB"
Thank you,
From s1 Learner Guide:
"You can remove a CPG from a configuration by either specifying a different CPG
in its place or by setting the tier’s CPG to “-†(no CPG). However, when a CPG is
removed from a configuration, all the VV space mapped to LDs in that CPG remain
in that CPG, Adaptive Optimization does not move them to a different CPG. And
since Adaptive Optimization no longer considers that CPG in its analysis that
space will remain there.
Therefore, before removing a CPG from an Adaptive Optimization configuration,
you should first make sure that there is no VV space mapped to that CPG. You
can do so by setting the space for that tier to 0 GiB. Adaptive Optimization will then
move all the VV space out from that CPG to other tiers in that configuration. This
may take a few iterations of execution of that configuration. You can use the LD
space report for that CPG to see when the CPG is empty. You should also make
sure that the CPG is not the default CPG for snapshot and base TPVV allocation
otherwise new VV space may get mapped to that CPG."
Removing CPG from AO config and then removing the data
Re: Removing CPG from AO config and then removing the data
Thank you! Another question (I'm not at the customer site to try this and our lab doesn't have AO): How do I know which volumes are using the CPG I want to remove? Will they show in the GUI under Provisioning>CPGs>clicking on CPG then the Virtual Volumes tab? I know I can see the VVs that were created to use whatever CPG, but does this also show VVs that are partially using the CPG due to data being moved there by AO?
Thanks!
Thanks!

showvvcpg
I dump that into a spreadsheet and can sort by CPG or volume to figure out what volumes have how much in a given CPG. You can then script the moves.
