3PAR service

Hey folks,

I'm just curious if anyone has noticed any significant changes in 3PAR's support since they were acquired by HP. Or if they seem to be angling to incorporate the 3PAR side of the house with their existing support structure. I'm fairly wary of what will happen to 3PAR post-acquisition and I'm just hoping to get a ground-level opinion.

Hello Trevor,

As of Saturday Jan 29th 2011, our support hasn't changed except for the "phone home" number that our systems automatically dial into to report status and errors.

That said, I expect there to be some changes eventually. It's safe to assume there are some duplication of efforts between the two companies that will be resolved in time. There's no way to know what will happen, but I from all appearances, I think HP Storage operations will become more like 3PAR's and less like HP of old since the CEO of 3PAR is the new leader of HP Storage(works).

That's the direction I hope they take. They have a very impressive product and I would hate to see it bogged down by HP.
