3Par Recover Manager for Oracle - Any experience?

Post by wkdpanda »

Anyone have experience with this product?

Looking at implementing it, and would like to know if there are any gotcha's, recommendations, etc.

Looking for info on Oracle file system layouts, network ports, etc.

Ditto. Any advice would be appreciated. Just our virtual copy license installed and have not had time to play with any of it yet.

I don't have any experience yet, but I was surprised when the engineer told me we could not use it since all of our Oracle DB's are in the vSphere environment.

Interesting point above.

I suspect that it has to do with Oracle running on VMDK/VMFS instead of raw disk maps?
