CPG Question

Post by Nik »

Hi,

We have a T800 with two CPG's filtered by Magazine.

PROD_CPG: Filtered by magazine range 1-9
DEV_CPG: filtered by Magazine = 0

We only have disks present in Magazines Positions 0, 1, 8 and 9 at present. (4 cabinets)

We have just purchased 2 Magazines of disks that we wish to assign to the DEV_CPG, that will be loaded into Magazine positions 2 and 7.

Can I modify the existing CPG filters so:

PROD_CPG: Filtered by magazine: 1, 8, 9
DEV_CPG: Filtered by magazine: 0, 2, 7

to achieve the result?

You can modify the CPG's settings but only new volumes that you create in this CPG will take these settings.
So in order to get it for the current volumes i would recommend creating a new CPG with the new settings.

And then tune over the current volumes to the new CPG with the new settings.
Its a lot of hassle but the currently i think its the only way to do it.
