Hi Guys,

Hope everyone going great.
Here is my query, as we know AO moves data at region level so when it moves data from regions (regions from CPGs having cage level redundancy) to regions (regions from CPGs not having equal cage level redundancy) . So will my data be at risk.??????
so how 3par manage it over all.

I hope you understand my query..

Thanks in advance :D :D :D :D :D :D

Quite easy to answer...
Loose one cage and you loose your data.
Nothing more to say.

As above AO spreads the volume data over multiple CPG's as such the volume is only as resilient as the weakest point, which in this case would be Mag level availability.

Like RitonLaBevue says you will effectively end up receiving the lowest level of cage availability that is in your AO config

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your experts thoughts,

So what i understand here is for a single volume i can have some data on cage level redundancy and some data might have mag level redundancy as well.

That is correct yes.

Ideally you would want all your tiers to have cage-level availability, but it is certainly possible with AO to have part of the volume on a mag-level tier.
