SSMC Customer Feedback
Re: SSMC Customer Feedback
Have SSMC on 3.2, than Update from 3.2.2 MU4 To 3.3.1 MU1.
Re: SSMC Customer Feedback
Just playing around with the Dashboard in SSMC 3.2 and added the System Performance Panel in.
What is it reporting on? I thought it was just Host Ports but figures don't seem to line up with my figures if I manually create a report or use cli?

Hi,
I sent you an email (wbbouldin) but I think it's better to ask here
I just noticed my SSMC (running on centOS, v3.1) was not running ok since some time (can't say when, but it was working few weeks ago, and we had an 3PAR OS upgrade between that may be the problem).
I can't create reports, I get "The connection to the server has been lost." when trying to select objects or objects rules.
I upgraded inplace to 3.2, same problem. I uninstalled, and did fresh install of 3.2, add arrays, and ... same problem.
Anyone got an idea about that ?
Thanks

Re: SSMC Customer Feedback
Ok, I think I now know what the System Performance dashboard panel is reporting. Its reporting Host and Enclosure ports stats but what was confusing me is the time stamp.
If I hover the mouse over the point at 09:00 on the x-axis it actually pops up with 08:00 timestamp so the data is an hour behind the x-axis time?
Is that right?

Re: SSMC Customer Feedback
Hi,
our observations regarding the new ssmc-version:
our observations regarding the new ssmc-version:
- it feels a lot slower than the version before
- it's basically great to have a system selector in the dashboard. If only it worked like the system selector in the other parts of ssmc... It is not able to "transfer" a selection to the next part you click on (would have been great for big environments with a lot of 3PARs), and it remembers it's selection independently from the rest of ssmc - great for getting confused
- the vv-part looses the content of the search bar ( = a filter) after creating a vv
- the rcopy-groups part sometimes moves a selection made in the system-selector up to the search bar ("cluster:system1;system2")
- I really think both set-parts need a "Members"-area in the drop down selector! Beeing forced to leave vv-sets just to see which vvs are part of a given set is strange.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Yes great confusion.
Go to Hosts and select only one 3PAR (upper right).
Now go to Replication Groups and you are unable to Create a new Group.
Replication Groups do not Show the System selector.
If you do the selection Time before, you did not why you are unable.
Doing the same Selection with Volumes have no influence with Groups.
Re: SSMC Customer Feedback
The Remote Copy Groups-Part seems to habe a display issue: When I select two systems that are connected with rc in the systems-part of ssmc and then go to remote copy groups, this part still shows "all configurations" in the system selector (which is a configuration selector here). It does NOT preselect the rc-config consisting of the two selected systems like the last version of ssmc did. But it does not find rc groups in all configurations, but only in the config with the two systems selected.
Hope this explanation is comprehensible...

Re: SSMC Customer Feedback
another display-issue: We have two hosts in a host set, and exportet a vv-set to this host set. The vv-set contains two vvs with 16TB each. When the hosts are turned off, ssmc shows only 16TB exported size and not 32TB:

Okay, point taken. We'll make some tweaks and improve this in SSMC 3.3. As always, thanks for your feedback. We take it very seriously.
