RCFC @ 8Gbps?

Post by scottm »

I must have missed something in the docs, and the engineer that was here for install must not have known.

I just moved our RCFC ports over to an 8Gbps switch and when I went into the IMC to change the RCFC port to 8 Gbps I got an error stating the maximum rate supported in initiator mode is 4 Gbps. Is there something I am missing or is 4 Gbps the limit?

My own error apparently I didn't read enough. According to an HP Storage Technical Consultant you need to completely remove Remote Copy to change port speeds.

Interesting. So it can run at 8gb, but you have to tear down and rebuild the links to do it?

Well that was what I was told. So I did that today, but still got the error that an initiator can only run at 4 Gbps, so I may have been duped. time to open a support ticket.
