3par Capturing configuration details.

Post by psshyju »

Welcoming all of you for 2013!

We are running 3par T400 and I am wonderng is there any way I can capture all the configuration details(CPG, volume and host etc.) using a single command. This will be useful incase of later system configuration restore.
This was possible using capture configuraiton in EVA from SSSU. I am looking for similar commands over here?

Kind regards,

Shyju.

You could run an Insplore and download this for offline keeping? It contains all necessary configs.

Thanks for the reply, so is there any single command for restoring captured inexplore files? like "file" command which was using for EVA.

Keep in mind that Insplore is not a configuration backup & restore tool, afaik it's merely a tool that gathers logs & array configs, that can either be uploaded to 3PAR support or downloaded for offline keeping.
But as you were looking for a way to backup configs, it's something that does the trick (yet not as neatly as a real config backup tool).
