What do I need to set the step size to for an Oracle DB. I'm running a R1, but I'm unsure on the step size. Is the step size equivalent to a stripe size? Also how do I verify that the VVs are running across all disks? What is the set size all about?
Thanks

Re: Oracle DB Step Size
Set size is how many drives in the raid set. For raid 5, a set size of 6 would mean that you have 5+1. For raid 1, a set size of 2 is a single mirror, 3 is a triple mirror... and so on.
"Step size" is a different advanced setting all together that 99% of the time should be left at default. Contact your HP storage SE or support for advice on changing that.
