Guys,
I've just had 2 new 3pars running 3.2.1 MU1 installed.
And i want to setup RCFC between the 2. I've used the following ports as in the picture below. and i've zoned the peer ports and the RCFC ports together as per each colour.
I thought i would be able to set the remote copy ports t RCFC and the 3par would just accept it, but when i go in the remote copy tab in IMC i can create a new one, but it only sees the ports i've listed as peer ports.
Just to confirm the peer ports are going to be permanently reserved for peer motion. So on the main 3par they are set as Host Ports and on the secondary 3par they are set to be peer ports.
Can anyone confirm if to setup RCFC did these ports need to be set to a mode that wasn't RCFC? as i've had the zoning setup to use the RCFC port WWN.
I've also tried changing the 2 remote copy links on the primary 3par to Host and when i try to create a new config it now lets me select the ports. But when i try to draw the lines across and apply i get the errors in the second screen shot.
any advice greatly appreciated.

Are you using dual Fibre Channel SAN fabrics? Are these arrays located on the same fabrics, or connected across a WAN link?
I ask because I see you're trying to connect an "odd" port to an "even" port (last digit in the port identifier), and in most deployment models, odd and even ports are located on separate Fibre Channel fabrics. Properly set up, they wouldn't be able to see each other.

The ports need to be set to RCFC, and also need to be initialised, but I also saw today that there's a critical patch for 3.2.1, patch 4 and one of the major fixes is for remote copy.
So worth installing that first I'd have thought.

i managed to get HP to dial in and fix it. They had to disable the ports and set them back up again, but using the CLI
