Hello together
I bought used disks for our 3PAR 8200.
The disks have a different serial number printed on them than the system outputs. (showpd -showcols Serial)
It is noticeable that the printed serial number has more characters than the one the 3PAR recognizes.
Printed:
2Y8617N0**
System returns:
000722**
Is this normal? The supplier will replace the discs for us. Have I (supplier) been a victim of counterfeiting?
The other discs, all have a serial number (printed/system):
A04415**
Thanks for your feedback
Andy
Used Disks genuine ? different serials
Re: Used Disks genuine ? different serials
3PAR drives will always have at least 2 and usually 3 serials. The OEM serial printed on the OEM label, a HPE serial printed on the disk and used for tracking support at HPE and a 3PAR serial shown from showpd -i.
