Post by jasontch »

what is the max no# of hard disk can be put into CPG? Would the follow the max hard disk can configure as per 3par model? For example if F200, can support max 192 hard disks, if I insert all 192 FC disks into system, so I can put 192 hard disk into the CPG? Any have doc to support it? Correct me if I am wrong?

There isn't a max number that I know of. By default I believe that all disks based on the devtype go into a cpg. Now you can create disk filters if you want to only have the data reside on certain disks in a CPG. We used this for backups when I first showed up here. Not really ideal but it was inherited. It was change shorly after. The more spindles you have the faster it goes, right..... ;) ?!?!?

All of them! :) as long as their the same type, NL or FC/SAS.

I believe the HP 3PAR Inform OS 3.1.1 Concepts Guide will cover that topic.
