Hello,
does anyone know how could I reset 7200 to factory setings?
Thing is, we are having 2 7200's, one is ours and one is for our customer. Installation on the customer site will not be done in the next 2 months so I would like to test Remote Copy and Peer Persistance features while I have a chance.
When I finish I would like to revert customers 7200 to factory defaults so I can do MOB procedure on customers site.
Ofcourse I dont mind loosing the date on both 3PAR's since this is still a test environment.
Thank's.
3PAR 7200 factory reset
Re: 3PAR 7200 factory reset
I didn't do a factory reset but I wiped the disks on a 7400 recently. Here's what I did:
Login as console user and select menu options 8, 8 and 6.
This effectively wiped the array and I had to run the OOTB procedure again.
Hope this helps.

OK, great, thanks.
BTW, I got info from a friend that is HP storage pre-sales...
One procedure is the one that shrek mentioned, and the other is, you can give a call to HP with request for reverting it to OOB, and they do complete wipeout remotely through some service mode access that they do not give access to customer.

Re: 3PAR 7200 factory reset
Two days ago I received back a 3Par 7200, it was initialize in a trianing, and don't have IPs or Passwords. How can I reset to factory default, exists a default password or something that I can do to recover this storage?
Thanks for your comments.

Log a support call, they can access the SP and reset everything.

There are practical limits to that. If he doesn't have IP or passwords (as stated), he won't be able to setup connectivity, which means HP's remote access won't work.
As it's been relocated, HP will call that a "reprovisioning" which is a charged support call.
Re: 3PAR 7200 factory reset
Well he can sit in limbo or log a call and have HP provide a one time password to enable the reset or assist In rebuilding the SP, how much will it cost ? dunno but how useful if it at.present.?

There is no "one time password", it's a single, hard coded root password that they will not give out. This doesn't mean it can't be acquired.
