Hi,

we're wondering about the idea behind those new Application Sets that seem to replace Volume Sets. It feel's the same, in the docu I read there's no info about the motivation for this. Does anybody know? AFAIK, creating Application Sets also creates a Volume set (not sure). Are there any benefits? Is it simply a way to get rid of those "RCP_..." Volume sets created by Remote copy?

AFAIK it's simply a way of tagging a workload, similar to what the Nimble arrays do on volume creation. This should also assist with InfoSight and other management tooling where workload types rather than simple groups of VV's can be provisioned / reported on.
