But it will! Keep checking quarterly release notes for added features.

Seems pretty clear there now.

Not the first time people are mixing 3par/Primera and
Vmware Vvol.

I think HP/HPE has been rather consistent on using VV for Virtual Volumes rather than Vvol. Interestingly enough I'm pretty sure 3PAR was first both with name and abbreviation.

I wouldnt go near VVols personally. Never felt like it was properly finished/implemented, and using a load of PS script during site failovers just seems too clunky.

Also had a load of issues with orphaned vvols too, the whole thing is so promising in theory, but in practice it was just one big hassle, and I wouldnt touch vvols for production personally.

Its like VMware did so much, then gave up, and expected the storage vendors to develop further, and the storage vendors expected Vmware to develop the VVols management properly in the esxi gui, then proper development stagnated. I could be wrong, but it never felt finished.

T16 too late now. :)

It's official now. Primera has support for vmware vvols. hope vvols replica from 3PAR to Primera will work.

another doubt about vmware vvols...seems peer motion is responsible for migrationg data?in my case from 3par to primera.. but im not shure dat I can migrate VVOL?

does someone know whats procedure for mooving vmware vvols from 3par to primera?

I did found https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/do ... 88911en_us but it say "Migration of snapshots, clones, VMware VVols, or Remote Copy groups is not supported." document could be old.

Why bother with Peer Motion when you have vvols? You do have storage vmotion and that is only one job per VM vs one task per volume.

I have 200 VM and just one VOL..seem easier to migrate data on storage level.

Storage vmotion is part of vcenter?
