Hi

We have a 7200 running, 3.1.3 (MU1) with some patches.
We have managed to set up LDAP which is working fine. The problem we have is NTP.
The NTP server is also our DC server, so it should all work.....
Ive used setntp with the DC IP, but the time does not change (about 3 mins out).

Ive rebooted one of the nodes, hoping it would change the time and send it through to the other, but it didnt work..

We are also having a problem with the NTP on the SP, ive set it up, however when i do a "network test", it cant ping the NTP server, it manages to ping the gateway...

Does anyone have any other ideas, or suggestions?

I've never had much luck with using a DC for NTP for non-windows clients, we just use our core switch which then feeds everything including the DC with the pdce role.

Windows domain controllers don't really work as an NTP server for VMware ESXi either. They aren't fully compliant with the spec, so it's not unusual to expect it to fail.

Just point it at a "real" server.
