I've an an on-again off-again revolving ticket issue with HP support over the last few months. The below error message appears across varying management interfaces on a 7400 and on a 7200. It seems as if HP support is stumped by the issue, thoughts?

What type of switch are they connected to?

Generic suggestion, you might want to hard code the speed and duplex settings for the switch port.

They are connected to a couple of 5406zl's via the 20-port gig copper modules.

Didn't see any frame alignment errors or port flapping so didn't think it was a duplex issue, but will try hard-coding the node on site.

Hmm, reminds me of the issues we had on our V400. We found back in 3.1.1 there were issues which believe it not 3par said were compatibility issues with certain Cisco switches and code level. We always called bunk on that, but the way we resolved isse was to set all the management ports to 100mb at the switch and on the array. Issues went away. I was told those port issues were fixed a while back and was getting ready to move my ports back to AUTO (1gb), but now you have be nervous ;-)

I have similar issues on my Cisco MDS9148 SAN switch management ports connecting to Cisco NX5000 switches... Cisco can't even auto-negotiate with itself correctly at times.
