I am attempting to recover a virtual volume that the system has marked failed and preserved. For some reason the system has the repair option greyed out in the GUI There are snapshots which are also marked as failed / unavailable attached to the system.

Optimally checkvv via cli would correct the issue; however the vv is online, how do we set the vv to offline to run the repair?

examples below:

checkvv -n output

S400 cli% checkvv -n DATA_VirtualVolume

admck: starting at time 06/20/2013 13:41:57
We will only do consistency check and will not repair anything.

There is a switch with checkvv command in CLI i.e. -offline.

You can use it like this.

checkvv -y -offline DATA_VirtualVolume

Check help for checkvv.

Thanks,

apparently that option is not present in 2.3.1

It is also missing from the CLI guide and help.

S400 cli% checkvv -y -offline DATALUNNAME
checkvv: Only -y or -n flag allowed
SYNTAX
checkvv [option] <VV_name>...
