in-place upgrade possible from 8400 to 8440 or 8450

Hello,
Currently we issue big problem with our two 3PARs 8400
Unfortunely we are eligible for a bug when:
1. We use 8400 model
2. upgrade to version 3.3.1 MU3
3. Use of File persona
these 3 conditions together make our 3PARs unstable at FS and management level.
3PARs are disconnected from SSMC and SP, 3PAR cli very very latent or unresponsive
Support said us it's a know issue now (but MU3 was released last year !), 8400 seems to be not
enough powerfull at memory level.
Workarounds apply these last weeks by support is:
- Purge /Var/log/ on FS node
- Restart FS node (when in "starting" state permanently) and if not possible -> crash master node
- Or kill exceeded CLI session when more than 96.
We are currently in discussion with HPE, but according to them the only definitive solution is to replace 8400 by 8440 or 8450, they say us in-place upgrade of controller will not be possible
Do you know why ?
Thx
