Post subject:  Frequent failures on the HGST 'HCBF' drive model ??

Is anyone else experiencing an outbreak of pending failures with this model of 2.5" FC disk ??
We've now had 4 failures in the last week. Out of about 90 of this model in one of our 8200 arrays. I've got another 7 drives that show the 'UnCorr Read error' count greater than 2. I think HPE support said they can only send a replacement when the array calls home with eminent failure. And they're certain there is no cage or node failure that might cause it.

thanks,
don m.

I had a 3PAR with only those drives. HPE proactively replaced about half of them a couple of years back after reviewing some of their call home data from what I understood.

Update: we've now replaced 10 of the HGST 'HCBF' drives with Seagate drives. HPE support said they will not do further pre-emptive replacements until the uncorrectable read errors hit 20.
