Post subject:  Correct amount of freespace

Hey Guys,
I'm so confused about the values of "free" space in the 3Par.

We are using a 3PAR 7400 Systems and the system have 18x480GB SSD and 18x400GB SSD, configured as a R5 - 3D+1P.

On the System, we using one dedup-volume with the amount of 5TB.

Now, I would like to create a additonal volume but don't know how much capacity can I use for the new volume.

What is the difference between SYS-capacity (6969GiB) and CPG-capacity (5193GiB) ? From where comes the difference from about 1776GiB?

Thanks a lot!

Regards,

First of all.

IMC is End of Life a couple of years ago.

System Capacity shows RAW values.
Provisioning group shows "post RAID".

Are you seing any benefit of dedupe? With the amount of free space, this is probably your last chance to convert. In such a small system I would think twice about dedupe unless you have good numbers as you will have no wiggle room.
