Hi,

I have a bad node that ended up being the boot drive. I decided to try my luck and purchased a boot drive from a 3rd party. It came without an OS on it. I am trying to figure out if there is a way for me to load the OS on this boat drive or have the other functioning node rescue it somehow?

Is there a place to purchase the boot drive with the OS intact anyone knows about?

The OS needs to be installed in the system where it will be used. If not, the node will most likely have issues integrating to the cluster.

When HPE do replacements on these the part shipped to the engineer is blank.
The node rescue process images the boot partitions back onto the drive.

For the record the Sandisk M.2 drives found in the 8000 series seem to wear out and fail.

Did you try login as console user via serial cable and issue "Perform a Node-to-Node rescue" menu entry?
