thanks josh26 for reply BUT :
Exactly wrong , if you read that Doc , you will be found that there it has been said baud rate 9600 and plug console Cable to MGMT port both of them are incorrect !!! the most important reason that lead me to ask this Q was that guide . i am looking for official HP Doc for connecting by console .

HP don't support end users connecting to the console, so they aren't going to document the process.

From the PDF titled "3PAR InServ T-Series Storage Server Installation and Deinstallation Guide"
Appendix page C.7

57600 baud
8 bits
No Parity
1 stop bit
Xon/Xoff

The gray adapter + standard cat5 cable should do the trick.

The 7200 book does not include instructions for using the seriel port.

I am setting one up as we speak, had the same issue,.

it isnt documented but disable XON/XOFF, baud rate 57600

also make sure you use the grey plug PN; 180-0055-01 and use a standard ethernet cat5 cable.
I had to butcher the plug to fit my laptop also

see attached screenshot of my settings;

hope that helps!

I have corrected my post - at that time we did the first 7000 in the US so I really don't know where I got 9600 from, I obviously was able to access it. -Justin

Hi

We connect to the mfg port of a node with the supplied, blue, serial cabel. 850-0023-01.

The cabel came with the 3PAR. I guess you all have it in a box somewhere...

putty and the following configuration
com X
Speed - 57600
Data bits - 8
Stop bits - 1
Parity - None
Flow control - XON/XOFF

As Leif said, you must use the grey adapter and the blue cable. Not any cat5 cable or the red one.
