Post subject: | Node Controller 0 Failure how to stop fan alert |
Hello we have a 3Par 7200 which one node controller stopped working and i tried to remove and reinsert back the node controller but the fan is running at full speed and a big noise is on the 3par we have purshased a new node controller but it will take some days to arrive , how can i stop the fan and the noise from alerting through the 3par cli ? or is it the normal behaviour of the 3par storeserv ? according to the logs and the service manual the controller node is with a blue light and is not detected from the storeserv system . here are the logs : Code: HP3PAR_7200 cli% checkhealth -svc -detail Component ------------------------------------------------------Summary Description------------------------------------------------------ Qty Alert New alerts 40 Cabling Missing node for cabling check 1 Cage Cages missing B loop 3 Cage Degraded or failed cage power supplies 2 Cage Degraded or failed cage AC power 2 File sr_mnt not mounted 1 host Hosts not seen by multiple nodes 10 LD LDs in write through mode 35 LD LDs without backup 38 LD Failed or degraded LDs 1 LD Preserved data storage space does not equal total node's Data memory 1 Network Too few working admin network connections 1 Network Errors detected on network between 2019-06-16 03:41:35 CET and 2019-06-17 03:41:36 CET. 2 or more packet errors have occurred. 1 Node Number of node environmental factors out of tolerance 6 Node Nodes that are not online 1 Node Power supplies which are failed or degraded 1 PD Unbalanced PD types in Cages 5 PD PDs that are degraded 72 PD Disks experiencing a high level of I/O per second 2 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19 total 223 Component -----------Identifier------------ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Detailed Description---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alert sw_os An Update is Available Alert sw_port:0:1:2 Port 0:1:2 Degraded (Target Mode Port Went Offline {0x3}) Alert sw_port:0:1:1 Port 0:1:1 Degraded (Target Mode Port Went Offline {0x3}) Alert hw_cage:0,hw_cage_ifc:0 Cage 0, Interface Card 0 Failed (Not_Present {0x405}) Alert hw_cage:2,hw_cage_ifc:0 Cage 2, Interface Card 0 Degraded (Interface Card Firmware Out of date {0x1}) Alert hw_cage:2,hw_cage_ifc:1 Cage 2, Interface Card 1 Degraded (Interface Card Firmware Out of date {0x1}) Alert hw_cage:2 Cage 2 Degraded (Loop Offline {0x10}) Alert hw_cage:0,hw_cage_ps:0 Cage 0, Power Supply 0 Failed (Failed {0x402}) Alert hw_cage:1,hw_cage_ps:0 Cage 1, Power Supply 0 Failed (Failed {0x402}) Cabling node0 No cabling data for node0. I would try and do as little as possible with the system until you get a replacement node. With only one node online you have a lot of single points of failure. Adding to the fact that you most likely have no write cache you will probably have pretty shitty write performance as well. |
