Hi

I have a win 2008 server with luns on a EVA6400. The server has HP DSM mpio installed.
We have conneted a storeserv 7200 to the same server and can I use the same hba drivers for
the 7200 as for the EVA6400? (will migrate data to the 7200 and disconnect EVA6400)
To get failover for the 7200 I need to use native mpio (with some manual modifications).
Will these modifications in any way disturb failover towards my EVA system or can they coexist?

Regards

-g

If you're using online importer the guide tells you to remove the DSM before attaching to the 3Par, but in order to facilitate a working rollback plan we left it in place and simply added the 3Par identifier to the native MPIO control panel which should cause native multipathing to seize the 3Par volumes. It worked fine for us and the risk of not being able to cleanly go back to a direct EVA connection if the import failed far outweighed any theoretical problem with the DSM.
