I've looked all over, but I haven't found any documentation or instructions, or even information really regarding this upgrade too. I have it downloaded. It appears that it gets installed on the array, possibly using the SP. I staged it on the SP and it said it would automatically be installed by the StoreServ the next time an upgrade is performed, and that no further installation steps are needed.

Yes, I know that's pretty self-explanatory, but does anyone have any formal installation instructions or information about how this works?

Once this is installed on the array, I'm assuming one continues to perform updates to the array via the SP like normal. It looks like these are just scripts that perhaps run on the array before, during, and after the upgrade to keep things stable, and the usual SP-invoked update process is the same.

Anyone have any info here on this?

To my knowledge it is a user-friendly collection of the scripts used by the upgrade team when they are doing upgrades. With SP5 it also shows some of the things it does during the upgrade.

Hi, this U015 is the first upgrade tool I found release notes for:

https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=1008793289&docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-a00046463en_us

There's some information included, but no complete list of what it does.

Thanks. I think I saw that one. The installation seems to only mention 3.3.1, and basically says to stage it and it'll work next time.

I'm running 3.2.1 on a couple of arrays, and was hoping to have those tools installed for any upgrades to 3.2.2. Is there a way to install this for 3.2.1 to go to 3.2.2? Do you just stage that upgrade with the SP before any patching or updating?

We just updated a bunch of 7400 from 3.2.1 MU5 to 3.2.2 MU6 and did exactly that (support told us to).

So all you did was stage it on the SP, before running the update from the SP? When completed, does it show the maintenance scripts installed in the showversion -a output on the array?

Yes. I staged the Update Tool together with the MU and all patches. Installation was done by HPE.

No, no trace of it on the system. I guess it really just assists in the update.

Weird. I swore I was looking at some documentation that showed update scripts showing in showversion -a output.
