3par initialize error

We got a new 3par 7200. When trying to initialize the storage from VSP Storage Setup Wizard, at step "change 3paradm password", it throws me "unknown error : 121109" and won't continue.

tried reboot the 3par and change mamagnement ports etc. not helping.

I read from a blog that says it's a known issue. Does anyone know what option i have ?

For my experience the VSP Storage Setup Wizard does not work very well.

I would recommend just connecting a serial cable to the 3PAR and run the Out of the box configuration wizard from that one. ( Like the setup was done on the V400 and other systems before )

You might have to run return to out of the box before being able to run the Out of box configuration.

Not much help regarding the problem your seeing, but thought I would just tell you my experience with the configuration wizard.

3paradm has to be 8 characters or less, I'm guessing you tried to use a longer password.

We ran into this too. All our service accounts have 16/32 character randomly generated passwords.

Christian: We ran our own startup with 3.1.2 and 4.1.0 (IIRC) and the webUI worked fine, besides a few hiccups like the above error.

I faced this Error last hours and found nothing on the web , i just found one japaneese doc on the web related to the errors , is there any one here to understand the japanees or know usefule information about this error , i m really hard confused !!!!!!!

Chanchon, it's already been pointed out in this thread that this issue is caused by a password being used that is longer than the supported eight character limit.
