Post subject:  Latency in NL tier climbs during Storage vMotion in FC tier

Customer is doing Storage vMotion from 3PAR 7400 to 3PAR 8400. Datastores being moved are all FC datastores. The problem is that, during each svMotion, Delack counts (srstatcmp) skyrocket for NL tier. on the source system (7400) Is there anything that can be done on the 3PAR side to resolve this problem, or must svMotion be throttled in order to resolve the delack issue?

Might be a stupid question, but are you sure there is no AO running?

Or that the system at one point went 100% full on FC and started using NL capacity in NL tier?

Or the last and most unlikely, are you seeing latency on all host ports? I've seen weird $h!t where some hosts wasn't using round robin so that one host port got maxed out and latency were all over the place.

Thanks for your reply and questions. I'm 99% sure AO isn't running but will confirm. Also, I don't believe there's been any spillover from FC to NL tier due to full FC tier. I don't think this could be a host configuration/pathing issue since the problem comes when svMotion begins and goes when it concludes. But helpful response, so thank you.
