7400 4 node with 4SFF and 4LFF, Everything is vmware, production VMs will run on FC drives and their backup on NL drives.

Is it safe to go this route ? I mean everything is on one unit. Should I connect LFF to different system.

Safe is a relative term.

Indeed it would be safe-ER to have your backups on a separate system.

Is your NL copy the only backup you have? How do you get a copy of your backups offsite?

we use veeam for offsite backup. i do have 7200 unit, i will use that unit with NL drives
