Post subject:  Issue while setting up Remote copy

Hi,

I have two 3par systems, 208 for primary and 240 for replication. From 208 have 0:0:1, 0:0:2 ports configured as RCFC and the state is ready similarly from 240 ports 0:0:1,0:0:2,0:1:1,0:1:2 are configured as RCFC and state is ready.

R0208 cli% showrctransport -rcfc
N:S:P Peer_Node_WWN Peer_Port_WWN State
0:0:2 2FF70002AC001829 20110002AC001829 ready
0:0:1 2FF70002AC001829 20110002AC001829 ready

240 cli% showrctransport -rcfc
N:S:P Peer_Node_WWN Peer_Port_WWN State
0:1:1 2FF70002AC0017F2 20020002AC0017F2 ready
0:1:2 2FF70002AC0017F2 20010002AC0017F2 ready
0:0:1 2FF70002AC0017F2 20020002AC0017F2 ready
0:0:2 2FF70002AC0017F2 20020002AC0017F2 ready

From GUI, We are not getting the FC ports listed when trying to create New Configuration for remote copy. Please find the screen shot attached for your refrence.

Thanks,
Vinay

Have you done the zoning on the SAN Switch ? :)
Or are they connected directly?

I have configured FC zone on the SAN switch and achieved connectivity
Please let me know all the possible reasons for not getting the FC ports listed there.

Thanks,
Vinay

After you zone 1 port from one side to 1 port of the other side... bounce one or both of the ports to force a re-login/rediscovery.

I tried direct connect with 2.31 and found this longer works/not supported... must go through a switch now.
