Can anyone please explain me basic difference between a service processor and a controller in 3PAR terms.

The controllers, enclosures and disks form the array with the controllers being inline, so all data passes through them to disk, whereas the SP is just a monitoring and maintenance device.
It sits outside of the data path so no data passes through the SP but it's used for initial setup then dials home periodically with telemetry data from the array, it's also the staging area for firmware updates, provides onsite maintenance routines and optionally also supports remote access to the array for engineering purposes.
