Hi... anybody have first hands on, on alletra MP ? please do share your experience, as its greatly appreciated somehow from the tech briefing, seems like its just a re-wrap 3par aka primera/alletra9k which still have all the old issues regarding those architecture.. and the VID/PID is still 3par VV

think your array is undersized...

are you using deco ? if yes then the compression will take the cpu cycles..

we are on 4N A650 ...and support ask us to move RC to pair 2/3 to reduce pair 0/1 load..
convert volumes with high writes from deco to thin

we have a AF array which is currently maxed out ctrl + 2 exp..

as we bought the capacity in very small disk packs 240GB disks..

is there a way for us to "evacuate" remove 1 disk pack and replace it with eg 940GB SSD ?

there also seems to be another reason as we started off with 2node then upgraded to 4 nodes, most of the vv 95% of them the master is owned by 0/1 , according to support somehow this is causing a higher utilization and they say there is a case with engineering about this, but can't say when it will ...

when i do #showtask -active..

i notice the array is always running defragmentation tasks on the cpg.. seems to keep on running
after it finishes a new one will that and a new one

practically the whole #showtask , is filled with the defragmentation jobs, seems to be very frequently running

our HPE representative informed us that 4.3 & 4.3.1 has been released..

anybody using it ? or upgraded to it ?

can controller CPU % be proper assessment too ?

yes i understand the saturation, is one key point...

cause somehow my 4N the node pair 0/1 seems to have 20 to 30% higher utilization compared with my pair 2/3

thats why i was wondering if im reaching the limits considering the CPU % on pair 0/1

How do i findout if my A650 Array has reach its limits, and require an upgrade to A670 ?

or what is the trigger point i should stop introducing new workload to the array and get another array ?
