I am not aware of any way to "level" an existing CPG. New LDs will be created on the new spindles, but all existing data will just stay put on the original spindles. Using DO is a workaround to force the data off the old LDs onto new LDs, and to do that you have to move it to a new CPG. No...

Is setting some CPGs to "fast" and some to "slow" really a good idea? First lets assume your disks are (fairly) empty. Now create 2 VVs, one each of "fast" and "slow". So the VVs get allocated at opposite sides of the platter. You have now guaranteed that ever...

I have observed the same effect on 1500GB JFS formatted LUNs. These LUNs were 99% full. Most of the data was then deleted, leaving approx 5G. 'dd' was then used to create a large zero file. The "Used User Size" decreased as expected (down to 20GB) however the "Reserved User Size"...
