You need to replace with a disk type which your 3PAR has firmware to and the drive need to be formatted with 520 bytes sector.

Best case (if you don't have support) is to check for the spare part number of the disk from a refurbished source.

Yes you can however :

1. It needs to be a 3PAR drive as per MammaGutt's post.
2. It needs to be the same class of disk as the others to be part of the CPG i.e Fastclass (SAS).
3. The additional space over and above 300GB will be wasted as you can't create raid in the free space of only one drive.
4. Your sparing overhead will increase to cover the largest drive in the system so you're likely to lose some additional capacity from the existing 300GB drives.

In summary yes you can do it so long as you meet the prerequisites, but it's probably not a great idea. If you're replacing a drive try to stick with the same or similar capacity. If you're adding multiples then you're free to do what you want within the configuration rules.

Thanks for your reply
For a policy of scalability I will be able to replace by big disk gradually until having the whole cage with disks of great capacities.

Yes that's possible but unless you only intend to buy one disk at a time it's pretty slow, risky and laborious. Why not just add some larger disks to the existing enclosure or if you don't have the space add another enclosure and the new disks.
