3PAR Drive led is still amber!

Post by @lbi »

Hello,

A few days ago we replaced two FC drives on 3PAR one of the drives has the amber led on.
From SSMC and 3PAR CLI drive status is OK.
I have rebooted the nodes one by one but the problem is still there.

Is there anything else we can do to turn the amber led off?

Best Regards!

Does checkhealth -detail show any clues?

Did servicemag complete successfully?

Is the new drive on the correct firmware or pending an update?

checkhealth -details doesn't show any clues.

yes,sevicemag completed successfully

yes, the new drive is on correct firmware there is no pending update.

PS. we have replaced two drives (same model), but only one has the amber led on.

Does power off the array, may clear the error?

If everything is OK, check if the Drive Locate LED is set on.
Try
locatecage -t 10 cagex y

Check the Disk with
showpd -p -cg x -mg y

If the Disk is OK you can do a Soft-Reset of the IO Module, this typically clears the error.
It is Online, but the command is not public.

Could a simple

admithw

solve the issue, if it's firmware-related?
When all else fails, read the instructions.
